    Carinthia offers excellent cross-country skiing areas with over 730 km (453 mi) of loipes. A selection of cross-country schools provide courses and the trails are cleverly distributed between valley and mountain locations throughout the province, offering beginners and advanced practitioners ideal conditions for every level.

    With the trails in St. Johann-Alpendorf, Kleinarl and Filzmoos, 260 km (161 mi) of cross-country skiing fun are waiting for you in the Salzburger Sportwelt. The cross-country trails fall into different ability levels, with 22 easy routes, 23 intermediate and 6 difficult. The 70 km-long (43 mi) Tauernloipe is the focal point of the network which interconnects the towns of Flachau, Wagrain, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Eben and Untertauern. Skating fans aren't neglected in the Salzburger Sportwelt either, with around 160 km (99 mi) of trails tracked especially for "skaters".

    Olympiaregion Seefeld

    The 5 villages that make up the Olympiaregion Seefeld have been providing cross-country skiing facilities and conditions for many years now that are unparalleled anywhere else in Europe. With 245 km (152 mi) of immaculately groomed trails covering all levels of difficulty, both beginners and experts alike can enjoy the sport to the full.


    For those who can never get enough, the cross-country skiing runs at 2000 m (1282 ft) above sea level at the Komperdell midway station in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis offer perfect conditions well into April. Special cross-country ski passes ensure inexpensive access to the runs and there are even shower and changing facilities for day guests at the Take-Off Center.


    At up to over 2000 m altitude, Galtür is an ideal holiday destination for cross-country skiing. The slopes are snow-assured from the start of December right through to spring, which means they provide ideal training conditions for everyone. On some 100 km (62 mi) of trails, those new to the sport will find the best conditions to practice, while those with more advanced knowledge can enjoy challenging tours in a dreamy setting.
